Your phone number, email address, and home or work address are some of the most retyped text on any iPhone. You type them into sign-up forms, delivery notes, booking chats, and messages to people who need to reach you. WordBoard turns them into keyboard keys, so each one is a single tap away in any app.
You don't have to type them in by hand either. WordBoard can import a contact straight from your iPhone's Contacts and create a key for every phone number, email, and address on that card.
In the WordBoard app, tap +, choose Import, then Contact, and pick a contact (your own card works well). WordBoard creates one key for each phone number, email address, and postal address on that contact. Switch to WordBoard in any app and tap a key to insert that detail. Contact import is part of WordBoard Pro.
Imported keys are added to whichever folder you are viewing, so open a folder such as "Me" or "Addresses" first if you want to keep them together. Otherwise they go on your main screen.
In the WordBoard app, tap + at the top right. In the Data section, tap Import and choose Contact. The standard iOS contact picker opens.
Select your own card, or anyone whose details you share often, such as a business partner, your office, or a family member. WordBoard adds the keys straight away.
Switch to WordBoard in Messages, Mail, Safari, a delivery app, or any other app, and tap the key you need. The full phone number, email, or address is inserted at your cursor.
WordBoard makes a separate key for each phone number, email address, and postal address on the contact, and labels it with the contact's name plus the type of detail. For a contact called Jane Smith, you might see keys like:
Addresses are joined onto one line as street, city, country, and postcode, separated by commas. If you prefer a different layout, for example adding your state or splitting the address over several lines, edit the key after importing. Every imported key is an ordinary WordBoard key, so you can rename, recolour, move, or delete it like any other.
iOS AutoFill can fill your own contact info, but only in fields that Safari or an app marks as a name, phone, email, or address field. It doesn't help in a chat box, a notes field, a message to a courier, or a form that isn't tagged correctly. It also only offers your own card.
